Maine Prairie Township Planning & Zoning Meeting
September 16, 2008
Chair Loewen opened the Planning meeting at 7:05 p.m. He called for any changes or additions to the Minutes. With a sentenced deleted on Pg MPP08-15 because of hearsay, Supervisors Unterberger/Wicker made a motion to approve the corrected minutes. Motion carried.
Opening of Planning and Zoning meeting was recessed to allow Heidi from Environmental Services and Charles Marohn from Community Growth Institute to discuss Comprehensive Growth. The Planning and Zoning meeting was reconvened with Chair Loewen calling for old business.
Dorothy Schmitz’s deck was paid for and accepted in the permits.
Chris Hommerding came before the board with none of his neighbors showing up to discuss the renewing of his permit. Clerk Harff said she sent letters to Calrson’s and Marquardt’s explaining the change of meeting date and ask them to come before the board. With their no show, it seems there is no problem with the kennel. Hommerding explained he has 9 dogs right now with 5 puppies. Supervisor Unterberger/Loewen made a motion to renew the permit for 10 dogs with Supervisor Wicker voting No because he has gone out to the area and felt the dogs were disruptive to the neighbors. Wicker would like to see a limit on the number of dogs. Loewen asked if there needs to be any restrictions. Hommerding became very agitated and Supervisor Unterberger felt it should be checked into further, he rescinded his motion so he could go out and speak with the neighbors personally. With the permit due in Sept. the board extended the permit until the October meeting.
Chair Loewen called for New Business:
With a permit renewed for Mid MN Hotmix, there was a question if the original permit called for a well on site. There was a concern that a big water hole was dug. Supervisor Unterberger will check into it.
With no other new business, permits were called for.

Supervisor Unterberger/Wicker made a motion to accept the permits presented. Motion carried Supervisors Unterberger/Chuck Froehling made a motion to adjourn. Motion carried. Terre Harff, Clerk
