MP11-47
Maine Prairie Town Hall Meeting
August 4, 2011 – 6:30 p.m.
Supervisor Loewen opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag.
The purpose of this meeting was to review the revised plan. It was
noted that the building would be put on a slab. The size of the
building was brought down to 40’X75’ from a 40’X90’ with a shrinkage of
the bathrooms, storage area and fire room. The Kitchen was
changed to have lower cabinets only. The outer hall way was made
smaller by extending the kitchen into the area; the women’s and men’s
bathrooms were brought down to one stall and one sink; the mechanical
room and storage area were made smaller with the big door taken out and
the fire room moved into the previously drafted storage area.
Discussion was what type of septic system might be required because the
building would be located in shoreland district. Loewen thought a
storm water permit might also be required.
Chuck Froehling was going to try to get a building cost and Supervisor
Loewen was going to try to get a cost for the foundation. The next
meeting will be September 1st unless the figures can’t be attained in
time.
The insert from the newsletter showing the need for a hall, will be in
the Kimball paper twice as a legal notice with pictures. The
meeting for bringing it to the people is September 22nd.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
