Maine Prairie Special Meeting
July 26, 2011

Chair Loewen opened the board meeting with the pledge to the flag.
Members present: Dennis Loewen, Ron Kuechle, John Wicker, Chuck
Froehling, and Clerk Terre Harff.
MOU Discussion: The board reviewed the A40 permits the county
issues and what ones the township issues.
Supervisors Wicker/Kuechle made a motion to adopt the same permitting as
was in A80. Motion carried
A40
Permitted uses in A40: (Red - the
township wants to permit or already is permitting)
A) Agriculture – the board felt all
Agriculture permits need to be controlled by the county since they are
the ones that issue the feedlot permits and they are more knowledgeable
with experts to help make the decision.
B) Antennas –
Township wants to have some say in issuing this permit. With the
understanding the board will need the county experts to help. The
antennas by Fischer’s were passed and the township would have done
things different or added conditions on the use of prime farmland for
antennas and would have addressed a weed problem.

The township only has a small area east of 93rd Ave across from Powder
Ridge area, in the T (Transition) 20 zoning. It was also noted
that the T20 zoning is being phased out to become A40 zoning.

Supervisors Wicker/Kuechle made a motion to adopt the county regulations
concerning the side wall height in zoning areas R20, R10, R5 and R1.
Refer to Page 6-2 in the Performance standards. Motion carried.
It was decided to continue the R5 at the next meeting which is Aug 23rd.
Rain damage and wind damage were discussed. Discussion was to have
Norgren Tree Service trim trees at 121st, 127th St and Badger Rd.
The supervisors will form a list of other trees that need trimming.
Discussion was to get quotes for patching 83rd and 173rd.
Supervisors Loewen/Kuechle made a motion to adjourn. Motion
carried.
