MPP11-13
Maine Prairie Township
Planning & Zoning Meeting
September 13, 2011
Chair Loewen opened the Planning meeting at 7:05 p.m. He called
for any corrections or additions to the minutes. Supervisors
Wicker/Froehling made a motion to approve the minutes as presented.
Motion carried.
Old Business: Garding Photography – Chuck Froehling explained that
she has applied for a Provisional Use for her Photo business and a sign
permit.
Larson/Hanson swimming pool and steps to patio: Ron Albers did go
out and inspect the steps and he explained that it was all on grade so
no permit is needed. He explained the pool regulations to the
Larson’s.
With no other old business, new business was called for.
Karl & Carol Krippner were in requesting approval for a land split for
mortgage purposes. They have 93 acres in Section 27, Township 122,
Range 029 on Parcel number R20.11670.0015 which consist of crop land,
wooded acres and the building site where their new home is. They
are requesting a mortgage land split with 30 acres as their home site
and the remaining 63 acres as a second parcel with one building
entitlement. Karl explained the mortgage company told them it is
better to have the land split to get the mortgage. After reviewing
the maps and discussing land uses, Supervisors Wicker/Kuechle made a
motion to accept the split. Motion carried. Clerk Harff was
directed to send the minutes to Environmental Services.
Tom Donnay was in to request putting his tile under 140th street.
He is intending to dig up the road not boring the road. He does
not own both parcels of land but has tiling rights onto Steve Yozamp’s
parcel. It was asked if there was a culvert in and there is but it
is too high. Other discussion was: Signage during the
process, have it compacted back in place, to have something it writing
from Steve Yozamp stating this is acceptable to be placed on his
property and a bond check of $500 to be kept until road is accepted.
Donnay was asked if he was going to do it himself or a professional.
He plans on having Ron’s Excavating do it. Supervisors
Loewen/Wicker made a motion to allow this tiling with the conditions put
forth. Motion carried.
Tom & Jean Kimlinger were present to see if they can add a porch onto
their home by Pearl Lake. It was explained they would need to go
into the county for the site permit. The question, is it
acceptable to be placed that close to a township road. He was told
it would need to be 63’ from the center of the road. The size of
the addition will be either a 14X14 or 12X12. With that he is now
79’ from the center of the road to his house. A 14’ addition would
bring it to 65’ from the center. With no road variances needed,
his permit was signed and he could go up to the county. He was
told that he will need to come back to the township to the building
inspector if he wants to proceed.
