83rd Avenue Road Improvement Meeting

Attendees: Council Member Aaron Dahlinger, Supervisors Dennis Loewen and Ronald Kuechle, Chair John Wicker, Clerk/Treasurer Lori Hunt, Joe Hendricks and Randy Sabart (SEH).
The meeting was called to order by Chair Wicker at 7:00 with pledge to the flag.
The purpose of this meeting was discuss the 83rd Avenue Road Improvement project. Randy Sabart of Short Elliot Hendrickson was present to offer advice/recommendations and answer any questions.
The portion of 83rd Avenue being considered for improvement will run from 135th Street south to County Road 44. The estimated length of reconstruct is approximately 2,604 feet. A (22) foot road surface is also being considered with a (one and a half) foot shoulder on each side.
The Township is considering paving 83rd Avenue in the spring/summer of 2017. This would include but not be limited to a full depth reclamation, along with the milling, removal and stockpiling of the asphalt for reuse. Then, sub cut three (3) feet of remaining material the entire length of the road and replace with fabric and up to three (3) feet of granular and reclaimed asphalt. After that, add two (2), two (2) inch lifts of bituminous.
The Township is waiting to hear back from Randy Sabart (SEH) on bid quantities in order to solicit bids. Sabart projected bid quantities to be available for review at the March 7th Board meeting.
Motion by Chair Wicker/Supervisor Loewen to pay the amount of $4,642.59 to Stearns County Highway Department for retainage on the 2015 Resurface Project. All in favor, motion carried.
Motion by Chair Wicker seconded by Dennis Loewen to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 pm. All in favor, motion carried
