Board Meeting Minutes
Maine Prairie Township
July 12, 2016

Attendees: Chair Wicker, Supervisor Kuechle, Supervisor Loewen,  Clerk/Treasurer Hunt, Deputy Clerk Robinson, Joe Hendricks, Gene Merten & (See signature list attached).

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Wicker with the pledge to the flag.

Planning and Zoning meeting opened at 7:00 p.m.

Board meeting reconvened at 8:05 p.m.

Motion by Supervisors Loewen/Kuechle to approve the June14, 2016 Board Meeting Minutes. All in favor, motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report was reviewed.
Nine (9) claims were presented for approval and payment for the month of June in the amount of $52,013.03 (see claims list attached). In addition, payroll expenses for 2nd quarter 2016 were paid in the amount of $6,089.19. Receipts for June totaled $224,043.86.  Motion by Supervisors Loewen/Kuechle to approve the Treasurer’s report subject to Audit and pay claims as presented. All in favor, motion carried.

New Business:
83rd Avenue North of Pearl Lake/Dip in Road at Culverts:  A dip in the road at culverts was reported on 83rd Avenue North of Pearl Lake. Chair Wicker and Joe Hendricks reviewed the site and reported a 2 foot by 2 foot hole breaking up all around. Hendricks will cold patch this hole. Chair Wicker to drive the road and recheck the culvert dips.

Old Business:
2016 Road Projects/83rd Avenue:  The report of geotechnical explorations for 83rd Avenue improvements was received from Independent Testing Technologies. After Board discussion of 83rd Avenue, Supervisor Loewen to speak to Mark Magnuson/Knife River and get further recommendations on how to proceed with this project.

Weed Spraying:  Supervisor Kuechle revisited areas where wild parsnip was identified. All areas have been taken care of.

Road Plan:  Joe Hendricks reported road counters are in place. Clerk Hunt reported the six new road counters will be arriving in the next week.

Discussion Items:

  • Clerk Hunt will purchase a new router for the hall.
  • Board of Appeal Training is now available online.
  • The August 9th Board meeting date will be changed to August 2nd due to the Primary Election on August 9th. Clerk Hunt to publish meeting change.

There being no further business, motion by Chair Wicker/Supervisor Loewen to adjourn the Board meeting at 9:15 p.m. All in favor, motion carried.
